Continued from here.Hermione smiled and squeezed Fred's hand reassuringly. "You won't get burned up, love. The floo powder changed the flames, so they're not dangerous to us. You just step forward into them, and then we'll be in my room at Moonstar."Looking back to the fireplace, she instructed her, "On three, we'll walk in together, all right? One...two...three."She stepped forward, still holding Fred's hand, and within moments they were being pushed out into her room at the other end. Turning, she wrapped her arm around Fred and smiled at her. "See. Told you that you wouldn't burn up," she said. "You feeling okay, though? The first time can be a bit of a suprise."As they stood there, a fluffy orange cat rubbed up against their legs, causing Hermione to look down. "Fred, I'd like to introduce you to Crookshanks."
Fred felt like she was going to throw up all over the place. The floo trip reminded her too much of a portal ride and she shook a little. "It-it…I really don't think I want to do it again anything soon," she said before giving Hermione a half-smile. She then felt something rub against her legs and smiled down at the large cat."Hello Crookshanks," Fred said, smiling. She then looked at Hermione. "That's a big cat. Are you sure he's a cat?""Of course he's a cat! Doesn't he look like a cat?" came a voice. Fred turned around and didn't see anyone. She then notice a painting on the wall and it looked like something was moving in it. The man in it looked at her and said, "What are you staring at?"Fred squeaked a little and hid behind her girlfriend. "Are paintings supposed to talk?" she asked as the man in the painting started to laugh. "Or laugh?"
Hermione rubbed her back, knowing how bad it could be sometimes. She was lucky in that she had gotten use to the floo fairly quickly, and there were some people that were never bothered, but there were others that never got used to it, like people who got motion sickness on Muggle transportation. "Well, now that we're here, I can give you some floo sickness suppressant. That should make it easier on you before we go back to the hotel," she promised. When Fred asked if she was sure Crookshanks was a cat, Hermione was about to answer her when the painting on the wall spoke up for her. Looking over, she rolled her eyes. "Actually, that particular painting isn't supposed to since it's just a lake scene, but it looks like Jefferson decided to pay a visit!" She looked at Moonstar's former potions master. "What are you doing in my painting?""We hadn't seen you for a few days in the hall, and we were getting worried, so I said I'd stake our your room until you returned. Who's this you brought with you?" Jefferson asked."Jefferson Blackfelt, this is my girlfriend Fred Burkle. Fred, this is Jefferson Blackfelt, Moonstar's first Potions master." She gave Fred a smile. "All pictures in the wizarding world move and paitings move and interact. The real Jefferson's been dead for over a hundred years.""I beg your pardon!" he said in a huffy voice."Oh, hush. You know it's true!" Hermione told him. She turned back to Fred to explain some other things. "And Crookshanks is a cat, but he's part Muggle cat, part Kneazle - a magical cat-like creature.""When did you get a girlfriend?" Jefferson interupted again. "You've only been gone two days."Hermione rolled her eyes and reached over to take Fred's hand. "The problem with paintings is that they can be very annoying."Suddenly, Jefferson starting jumping up and down in amazement, pointing at them. "She's your conduit! I can see it! Hermione Granger's actually found her conduit counterpart!"
Fred didn't want to tell Hermione she didn't like the floo because it reminded her of being sucked into a portal. Instead, she watched as Hermione and Jefferson talked back and forth. "It's nice to meet you, Jefferson," she said, feeling a little funny speaking to a painting. When he didn't answer, she shrugged her shoulders and allowed Hermione to take her hand. When Jefferson made his comment, Fred turned around and looked at him. "How did you know?" she asked."Your aura and it's quite strong too! Almost blinding," Jefferson said matter-of-factly. "Wait until I tell everyone else." With a small wave, Jefferson left the painting.Fred shrugged again and walked over to Hermione's bed. Crookshanks jumped up and laid on her lap. "Hi there," she said, scratching him behind the ears. She looked at the bedside table and saw a picture of Hermione with two boys. She recognized one of them as being Harry. She also noticed they were…waving in the picture. She leaned over and picked up the picture and studied it for moment. Crookshanks looked at it and sniffed before looking away. Fred giggled a little. "Your cat is very expressive, Hermione. It almost looks like he's disgusted by this picture," she noted before she looked at it again. "Do all pictures move here?"
Hermione rubbed her head as Jefferson disappeared from the painting to head back to the main corridor. "They're either going to think he's mad or I'm going to be bombarded by questions the next time I go through there."Looking over at the bed, she smiled when Crookshanks sat on Fred's lap and purred as she scratched his ears. "I think that's the first time he's ever let anyone other than me do that," she said, walking over to them. "He must sense how important you are to me."She sat down as Fred reached out and picked up the picture Hermione had of herself with Harry and Ron. It was the only picture she kept out - why, she wasn't sure. Maybe because it was the last time they had been happy. "Crookshanks doesn't like the picture because of Harry - I think he knows that we didn't...that things didn't end well between us. He tends to like to bat the picture over when he thinks I'm not looking."Scooting over, she curled up around her girlfriend and looked at the picture. "Yes, all pictures move, even the ones on postcards and in newspapers. It was a bit strange the first time I saw it because I wasn't expecting it. It's kind of funny because sometimes if you watch that long enough, we seem to get bored and walk away for a little while." She kissed Fred's temple. "I'm kind of glad that I can show you this. I like being able to share with you."She thought for a moment. "Since there's no students around, would you like to see the rest of the Academy? Or do you want to go back to the Hyperion?"
"I'm sorry," Fred said when Hermione started to talk about Harry. She frowned a little and touched her girlfriend's cheek. "It's never easy losing a friend and it sound like Harry and you were close." She leaned over and softly kissed Hermione before looking down at the picture again. "You'll have to get me a book, telling me everything there is to know about this world."She placed the picture back on the table, and laughed a little when Crookshanks seemed to snort. When Hermione asked if she wanted to tour the school, Fred eagerly nodded. "I would love to," she said, standing from the bed with Crookshanks in her arms. The cat nuzzled against her and Fred continued to hold him."Before we go, there's something I should tell you," Fred said as she looked down at the floor. "I-I didn't like the floo because of motion sickness. I don't like it because it reminds me of a portal and I don't think I'm completely over what happened. I-I just wanted you to know. I don't think your medicine is going to help me with my fears."
"We have the Muggle's Guide to the Wizarding World in the library actually. And since I just happen to be the librarian, I can check it out to you for as long as you'd like," Hermione told her.Getting up for the bed, she smiled at the fact that Crookshanks had so taken to Fred that he didn't want to jump out of her arms when she moved. "I think he wants to go too," she said with a laugh. "I'll show you around, and we'll stop by the library to put up the book."She was about to cross over to the door to open it when Fred told her why the floo system had affected her the way it did. Her eyes opening wide, Hermione crossed over to her girlfriend, reaching out to cup her palm to her cheek. "Oh, Fred, I didn't realize." She looked around the room for a minute. "Maybe...um...I'm not sure how much better the portkey system is, so we could try apparating. It should be easier for you - we'd just appear and disappear. Would that be better? I just haven't done it in a while."
"Apparation?" Fred asked, chewing on her bottom lip. She trusted Hermione and when she describe what Apparation was, Fred smirked. "Like on Star Trek?" She shrugged and held Crookshanks closer. "I just didn't want you to think I was being silly about the floo stuff. Maybe someday it won't frighten me so much."Crookshanks finally grew tired of being in Fred's arms so he jumped down and went back to Hermione's bed. "And I would love to read a book about everything you do," she said with a grin. "That way I'll be better prepared when I come here or any other magical place."Reaching over, she took Hermione's hand and pulled her closer. Fred deeply kissed her and then pulled away. "I love you. Now, take me on the tour?" she asked with a smile.
"Sort of like Star Trek," Hermione said with a nod, thinking about how much her father had loved that show. "Only there's no pretty sparkly effects or anything like that."She wrapped her arm around Fred and rubbed her hand up and down her arm. "I don't think you're being silly at all. I can't imagine having gone through that, so if it makes you uncomfortable, we'll take a different route."Once Crookshanks had settled on her bed and they had kissed for a few long, sweet moments, Hermione squeezed Fred's hand and led her out of her room into the faculty housing wing of the Academy. "This is where I and the other faculty members who live here stay. Not everyone lives here, though. Some of the teachers and support staff live in Colorado Springs or the nearby magic village. In fact, our transfiguration teacher is married to a Muggle."Reaching a staircase, Hermione put a hand out to keep Fred from stepping onto it just as it moved and realigned itself to another archway before another set of stairs settled into it's place."Sorry about that. It's not just paintings and pictures that move in the wizarding world. It can be almost anything that you might consider inanimate." She gave her a small smile. "So you might want to watch out for some of the books in the library. A few of them are a bit vicious."
Fred didn't want to leave Hermione's room. She didn't want to stop kissing her either. If she had her way, she would have her girlfriend on the bed already but she wanted a tour of the school, and of course to see the library. Breaking the final kiss, Fred allowed Hermione to lead her out, nodding when she explained where they were. When the staircase moved, Fred blinked. "Amazing," she muttered. She stepped on the bottom step and bent down to see how it moved, then remembered it was magic. Standing up, she blushed at Hermione. "I was sorta lookin' for a lever or something. I forgot for a moment it was magic." She smiled and squeezed Hermione's hand as they walked up the staircase. They were passing a picture of a man when he suddenly started to talk. "So it's true! Hermione's found her conduit!" he exclaimed. There were a few other paintings nearby and all of them started to chatter at once and Fred glanced over at her girlfriend."Do they do this a lot?" she asked. "Doesn't it get annoying after a while?"
Hermione smiled, loving the cute way her girlfriend blushed. "It's all right," she told her. "It can take a bit of getting used to, especially if you're used to a rational explanation for everything. Sometimes, I think that some of these things like the staircases have been enchanted just for the entertainment value."As they walked down the hall, Hermione saw the picture of the horseman and knew they were in trouble before he even said anything. Jefferson was rather a gossip. And very quick at spreading the news too."They do this all the time," she said with a sigh. "And yes, it can. Some of them even like to cop attitudes, especially the paintings that protect the entrances to the living areas. Some of them like messing with people when they've had a bad day, especially the painting leading to the Mimiteh dorm. Although, how a painting can have a bad day is beyond me.""Try having the kids sticking chewing gum behind your frame!" said one of the fairies in the paiting they were just passing."Try picking chewing gum out from between the pages of a book you just got back," Hermione shot back."Where did you find your conduit?" someone else asked. "I didn't think it was possible."Hermione looked at Fred and squeezed her hand. "I went to help someone for a friend. Fred was there.""I looked for my conduit for years," said Alannah Fernthorpe, a past Defense Against the Dark Arts instructor. "And you find yours by accident.""I suppose I was meant to find her." With that, Hermione opened a set of double doors and pulled Fred inside with her, pulling her into her arms once the doors were closed again, kissing her deeply. "Welcome to my library."
Fred smirked as Hermione seemed to bicker with some of the paintings. It was adorable and it made Fred happy. When they got to the library, she groaned into their deep kiss as she laid her hands on Hermione's hips. "Beautiful," she said, breaking the kiss. Fred was talking more about Hermione than the library. She turned to look at the library and smiled. "It's--" Suddenly there was a loud pop and out of no where a small creature appeared in front of them. Fred let out a squeak and quickly hid behind Hermione. The little creature looked up at her with wide eyes and tugged at the sweater it was wearing."Pippy's sorry for scaring Hermione Granger's friend. Pippy was just curious if Hermione wanted her to clean the library more? Pippy was here last night and dusted everything for Hermione. Pippy wants to know if she did a good job," the little creature squeaked out.Fred pressed her mouth against Hermione's ear and whispered, "What is that thing?"
Hermione almost groaned when she heard the popping sound, wondering if they were going to make it through any part of of this tour in peace. That had actually been something about spending the last two days in Los Angeles with Fred - it had been blessedly quiet and free of arguing, nosy paintings, snappy books and..."A house elf," Hermione told her softly before turning to Pippy and giving the little creature a smile. "Pippy did a wonderful job with the dusting, and I think the library should be fine for a while. Maybe you could go down and see if they need some help in the potions lab? I heard that a few students left quite a mess before going home for the summer, and Jimjam and Dorie were going to be busy for quite a while. I'm sure they'd appreciate the assistance."Pippy smiled at the thought and a moment later disappeared with another pop. Hermione looked back toward her girlfriend to explain."House elves are usually indentured servants unless you free them by giving them a piece of clothing. I gave Pippy that sweater after I arrived, but she still insists on acting as a servant. I think it's because it's all they really know how to be." She shook her head and led Fred over to one of the stacks of books, looking through it until she found what she was looking for."Here you go," she said, pulling out the Muggles Guide to the Wizarding World and handing it over. "We keep a copy on hand for the Muggles Studies class."
Fred frowned when she heard that house elves were used as servants. Nothing should ever be forced to be anyone's servants. If she had a house elf, she knew she would give it all kinds of clothes. "That's awful," she said as Hermione took her to one of the aisles. "Nothing should be made to be a servant. We should make all of them little sweaters so they're free."When Hermione gave her the book, she looked down at the cover and grinned before hugging it to her chest. "Thank you, sweetie," she said before leaning forward to kiss her. The kiss, like so many others, slowly deepened and Fred groaned. She really wanted to take her girlfriend private but she didn't think no where in the castle would be private. After breaking the kiss, Fred looked at her. "Can we go back to the hotel now? I suddenly have this need to be with my girlfriend. And I don't think anywhere here would be private enough," she said with a shy smile.
"I agree," Hermione said, understand why Fred wouldn't have liked anyone being forced to be a servant. "In fact, I actually tried to create group to help liberate house elves when I was in school. Only problem was most of the house elves didn't want to be freed. Pippy only let me free her so long as I let her stick around to help."The house elves seemed to be forgotten when Hermione found the book for her girlfriend and handed it over to her, getting a kiss in return. Wrapping her arms around her, Hermione held her, smiling slightly against her lips as she thought about how many times she had broken up snogging couples in the stacks and sent them on their way after deducting points from the offenders' dormitories. They'd probably be totally gobsmacked to see her now, here with Fred, doing what she had scolded them for. When they finally broke apart, she smiled at Fred's request that they head back to the hotel for some privacy. "I do think you're right," she said with a smile, not exactly relishing the idea of Jefferson popping back up in her room's painting. No wonder pretty much all the married instructors lived outside the castle. "Come on. Let's go back and get Crookshanks and few other things from my room, then we'll return to the hotel."After running the gauntlet of curious and chatty paintings, they reached Hermione's room again, where she quickly packed some clothes and other items into a truck and shrunk it down, slipping it in her pocket. Crookshanks jumped into her arms, sensing they were going somewhere, and she shifted him into one before wrapping her arm around Fred and taking her hand."Ready, love?" she asked before concentrating, hoping it worked over the distance they were going. Unlike Hogwarts, Moonstar didn't have a anti-disapparating spell up during the summer. She could feel power rush through her connection to Fred, however, and the spell came easily even with the extra person and animal, causing them to disappear from her room and reappear in Fred's room in the hotel.
Fred let Hermione lead her back to her room and stood there as she packed her things and shrunk her trunk. With the book in her arms, Fred nodding, feeling the energy start to surge through her. She closed her eyes, heard a pop and it was over. They were standing in her room and it hadn't been scary. "That was better than the floo," she said, looking over at her girlfriend.Crookshanks jumped out of Hermione's arms to investigate the new room while Fred placed her book on the dresser. "I'm going to call Wesley and see if he needs anything," she said before she picked up the phone. Fred dialed Wesley's number and after a few rings, he picked up."Hello?""Wesley? Why are you panting?" she asked, furrowing her brow."I-I was…doing laundry," he muttered."Where? Your building doesn't have…oh." It dawned on Fred why he was panting and she started to giggle. "I thought Rupert was supposed to be recovering not having--""Fred! We…I…was there a reason why you called?" Wesley asked."Just seeing if everything was okay with the two of you, which obviously it is. Did you get a hold of the people about the binding ceremony?""Yes. It's in two days. I left you a voicemail about it," he said."Good. I'll listen to it later. I’ll let you get back to healing Rupert," Fred said before hanging up her phone. "I think those two are as bad as we are!" She shook her head and pulled Hermione to her. "Oh, and the binding ceremony is in two days. I have a voicemail about it that'll I listen to later."
Hermione looked down at Fred, amazed by how easy the apparation had gone. Usually, there was always a fear of splinching, especially with extra people and over long distances, but she hadn't even felt afraid as they popped out and in again. It had to be the conduit connection - Fred had given her the power to make the jump safely."I think you helped boost it, usually I have to really concentrate to make a jump like that," she told her, pulling her trunk out of her pocket and setting it on the floor while Crookshanks began exploring and Fred went over to her dresser. She nodded when her girlfriend said she was going to call Wesley and instead went about returning her trunk to normal size and pulling some things out to put away. She stopped, however, when she heard Fred say something that almost sounded like Wesley and Rupert had been having sex when she called. Burying her face in her hand, she giggled softly - she definitely knew more about Rupert's sex life now than she had ever thought she'd know. Walking over, she stood next to Fred while she finished the phone call, looking at her with raised eyebrows when she hung up."Sounds like they're definitely ready to get on with their lives," Hermione said, wrapping her arms around Fred. "Rupert never was one to let a 'little' injury slow him down."Shaking her head, she nuzzled the skin next to Fred's ear before finding her lips, reaching up to tangle her hand in her hair. "I do believe that you wanted some privacy for us," she whispered against her lips. "I think we have it now."
Fred giggled a little. "I guess much doesn't hold Rupert down when he's around Wesley." She blushed a little and was glad when Hermione distracted her with a kiss. "Yes, I believe I did," she breathlessly said when the kiss broke. She turned and pulled Hermione toward the bed, making both of them fall on it.She turned over so she was on top of her girlfriend. With a smile, Fred leaned down and deeply kissed Hermione as she ran her hands under Hermione's shirt. When she reached her girlfriend's breasts, she softly ran her thumb over her nipples, groaning when they started to harden.Fred broke the kiss, her thumbs still brushing over the other woman's nipples, and looked down at her. "I love you so much, Hermione. I'm completely in love with you. I want to be with you forever," she quietly whispered. "I never want to be away from you ever again."
Hermione laughed when they collapsed onto the bed and Fred crawled over her, her hands seemingly everywhere. The laugh on her lips turned into a moan of pleasure when her fingers reached her breasts and began to massage her nipples."Fred," she breathed into their kiss, gasping softly when they broke apart. She looked up into Fred's beautiful brown eyes, reaching up to run her hand across her temple and down to her shoulders to her sides. "I...I don't want to be away from you either. I'm yours, Fred. Was from the moment I met you...although actually, I guess it was actually from even before that, all things considered."She kissed her again, continuing to run her hand over her girlfriend's bum and up her back underneath her shirt. "I'm planning on staying here with you. I've been so uncertain about where I should be, and now I've finally found my home - at that's L.A. as long as you're here."
Fred felt her eyes filled with tears as she stared down at her girlfriend. "Thank you," she whispered. She reached down and took Hermione's shirt off and softly kissed her stomach before move up to her breasts. "I love it when you touch me." She smiled and undid Hermione's bra and threw it to the floor. She then ran her hands over the other woman's pert nipples as she nibbled on her neck. Fred knew what she wanted so she laid beside Hermione and suckled one of her nipples as she ran her down over her flat stomach and to the waistband of her jeans. With one swift move, Fred unbutton them and then pushed them off her girlfriend's hips. With her mouth still on Hermione's nipple, Fred slipped her hand into her panties and nudged her legs apart. She slipped her hand further down and softly stroked her wet folds. Fred inserted two of her fingers inside of Hermione as her thumb ran right circles around her clit.
"Hmmm...I love touching you," Hermione moaned lowly as a goose pimples rose on her arms from both the cool air of the room and Fred's kisses on her now bare skin. "And when you touch me."She pushed Fred's shirt up as far as she could and continued to trace her fingers across her back as her girlfriend's mouth found her breasts, causing her to press her head back into the pillow with a gasp."Oh God, Fred." She lifted up her hips with Fred pushed her jeans down then opened her legs, letting her slip her hand down. "Ohhhh!"Her breath caught in her throat when Fred's fingers pushed into her, and her eyes rolled up back into her head. Her hips began to instictively buck against her hand. She couldn't believe how amazingly lucky she was; she couldn't believe that she had found the most wonderful in the woman in the world to be both her conduit and love. She felt all the things Fred was doing to her, and her body quickly began to tighten, all her muscles tensing up, all the sensations in her body concentrating on what was being done to her.Everything seemed to contract and contract and contract until finally she felt like she was coming apart, and she came against Fred's palm while crying her name.
The more Hermione bucked and groan, the harder Fred pushed into her and suckled her nipple. She loved giving her girlfriend pleasure but it brought her pleasure too. When she felt Hermione start to tighten, she pushed her fingers in even harder and deeper. And when Hermione came, Fred pressed against her clit to make the orgasm last longer. When it was done, Fred pulled her fingers out and sat up to lick them clean. The taste was inviting so she leaned down and softly licked Hermione's wet folds before moving up to kiss her. "You're amazing," she whispered as she broke the kiss. "Everything about you is amazing." Fred lightly bit Hermione's collar bone and smiled up at her.She ran her hand down and slipped it between her girlfriend's legs. Fred lathered her fingers with Hermione's come and smiled. "And taste amazing," she whispered as she ran her come-lathered fingers along Hermione's lips.
Hermione let out another shudder when she felt Fred's tongue on her, licking up her come. Then when she kissed her, she could taste herself on her girlfriend's lips and tongue. She couldn't help but moan at all the sensations her touches and words stirred inside her.Darting her tongue out to lick her lips after Fred ran her finger across them, she smiled, reaching up to catch her wrist. She kissed Fred's palm before quickly pulling her shirt and bra off her then gently nuging her onto her back."Well, as amazing as I might taste on your lips and fingers, I happen to think that there's something that tastes even better." She undid Fred's jeans and pulled them and her panties off her before positioning herself between her legs and leaning down to run her tongue up through Fred's folds, which were wet from arousal. "I think you taste even more wonderful," she murmured before locking her lips over her clit and sucking on it gently.
"No, I don't taste as good as you," Fred whispered as Hermione undressed her. "You taste much, much sweeter. I think it's because you're magical and--" But before she could finish, Fred's thought stopped when Hermione started to lick her. All her thoughts and words flew out the window as she started to buck her hips up."God, Hermione," she whispered as she wrapped a hand in the bedspread. Fred could feel the ball of energy form within her and she groaned even louder. She knew the warm feeling she got wasn't only before she was Hermione's conduit - it was also because of the love she felt for the other woman. It was a pure, unbreakable love and Fred knew she'd live the rest of her life feeling this way.Reaching down, Fred took Hermione's hand as everything inside of her started to tighten. She interlinked their fingers, the energy growing and lifted her hips off the bed. "I…I love you!" she cried out as she came on Hermione's tongue.
Hermione smiled against Fred soft skin when her girlfriend gasped and bucked up underneath her. She had no idea how truly wonderful she tasted her, so much better than her own. She tasted sweetly tangy, and Hermione relished in it and the bond that had grown between them so quickly.Reaching up, she rubbed Fred's breasts gently, playing with her nipples while tonguing and sucking her clit. After a few moments, she began to feel really adventurous and trailed her tongue down, curling it up inside the woman she loved while moving her hand to press lightly on her nubbin. She could feel Fred's legs beginning to tremble on either side of her and continued what she was doing. She then felt Fred take the hand she had been using on her breast and groaned softly, feeling the energy pulsing between the two of them. Fred moved underneath her - she was getting closer and closer, she could feel it.Then everything exploded, and she felt Fred's trembling both underneath her and through their connection, the love they had for each other echoing both in Fred's words and in their bond. Hermione lapped up her love's come before lifting herself up and kissing her deeply."I love you too," she whispered. "You're my girl, Winifred Burkle. The most wonderful person I could have ever hoped to fall in love with."
Fred could feel tears coming to her eyes at Hermione's words. When she'd been in Pylea, she used the notion of fairytales to get her through but she never thought she'd find true love and it made her heart swell. "I love you more than words could ever say," she whispered before pulling Hermione down to her.She snuggled her close and nuzzled her neck as she reached for the cell phone to listen to the message Wesley had left her. It was short and said to met them at a local coven the next evening at six. Ending the call, he looked over at Hermione. "It's tomorrow at six. He didn't say anything about Cordy and Angel but I'll ask them anyway," she said with a content sigh.Fred laid her head on Hermione's shoulder and started thinking. She wondered if they'd ever get married. "Do you think we'll ever get married? I want to promise you forever, like Wesley and Rupert are promising each other," Fred said as she nuzzled her girlfriend's neck.
Hermione cuddled against Fred, resting her head against her and gently running her hand up and down Fred's side while she reached for the phone and listened to the message Wesley had left regarding the binding ceremony. She nodded when she told her when it had been scheduled."I'm glad that Rupert's finally found happiness. He deserves it. And Wesley seems a really great guy," she said with a smile before kissing Fred's temple. When Fred then asked whether she thought that they'd ever get married, Hermione found her heart beating faster at the thought. She knew they were bound to each other by being conduit counterparts, but to be married to Fred and bound to her that way... "I think I'd like that very much," she said softly, running her hand up to run through Fred's hair. "I'd like very much to be your wife."
Fred smiled. She never thought she'd get married, especially to another woman. She snuggled closer to Hermione and closed her eyes, loving the feel of her fingers in her hair. She started to think about being married and glanced at Hermione for a second. Fred wanted to get Hermione something to show the world that they were together. She still have money left that was put away from her to finish off school. Her parents had left it alone when she'd gone missing in the hopes she would come home soon and need it. Fred knew about the money and had almost given it to Angel to help with running the hotel, but Wesley had talked her out of it, saying that was her money and she shouldn't feel like she had to give it to Angel."We should get rings, or something, to show we're together," Fred quietly said as she kissed Hermione's shoulder. "Just so people know you're mine and don't get any ideas." She winked at the other woman. "Or we could get matching tattoos!"
Hermione looked over at Fred with a smile when she mentioned getting rings, thinking that would be quite lovely. The idea of tattoos, though, made her grin. Reaching over for her wand, she gave her girlfriend a thoughtful look."You mean something like this?" she asked, placing her wrist up next to Fred's and pointing her wand at them. "Nota Carus."Two tatoos that looked like bracelets appeared on their wrists consisting of an intricate patten that looked like two strands of ivy weaved together. She raised her eyebrows when they finished forming, wondering what Fred thought."It's the Mark of the Beloved - no two are the same because they form based on the two people involved. I can take them away if you don't like it, though, or you want it somewhere else," she said softly. "You can actually choose to have it anywhere on your body."
Fred watched in amazement as the tattoos formed on their wrists. They were beautiful and she gave Hermione a grin. "It's beautiful," she whispered before leaning forward to softly kiss her girlfriend. She broke the kiss and looked down at the tattoos again. "I like them here. Everyone will be able to see them and know we belong together."She snuggled closer to her girlfriend and closed her eyes. Fred couldn't wait until things to settle down more so they could be normal. She knew Connor still needed some more work but knew the little boy would come around eventually. Angel was a good father, and Connor would see how lucky he was."This is nice," Fred said, looking over at Hermione. "Being here with the woman I love, half-naked." She reached down and took the rest of her clothes off. "All naked." She grinned and softly kissed her girlfriend. "We should do something fun tonight!"
Hermione smiled into the kiss with Fred, glad that she liked the tattoos. The wrist had seemed like the best possibility if she wanted them to be noticed, reminiscent of the handfastings she had seen take place in the wizarding world. "We definitely do belong together," she murmured. "Now and for always."Resting with her on the bed, she caressed her hand over Fred's hair as they held each other. In a way, she was still amazed that all this had happened, that she had found someone so wonderful. She felt alive again, and it was an amazing feeling. When Fred mentioned them doing something fun that night, she raised her eyebrows at the thought. It had been a long time since she had been out. She had been so used to spending nights either at academy functions or alone in her rooms, reading. "I...I haven't done anything like that in a long time," she admitted. "What--was there something you had in mind? Somewhere you want to go?"
Fred thought for a moment about what they could do. She didn't want to go to a noisy nightclub or a bar. "Too bad Caritas was blown up or I could take you there," she said, looking at her girlfriend. "Oh! That reminds me - you need to meet Lorne one of these days! He can read people's destinies when they sing for him. He used to own Caritas but Holtz threw a bomb in it."She softly stroked Hermione's skin and continued to think. It was too late to get any tickets anywhere and too late to get reservations at any of the good resturants. She thought about the carnival on the pier, but then remembered the vamp problem down there. "Oh! We could have a picnic tonight. Of course it can't be outside because of the vampires and stuff, but we can find someplace." She then smiled. "We could have it at Wesley's apartment!"Fred nodded at the idea and sat up. "We could go to the store and get some things and cook. We'll have to ask them first but I'm sure they won't mind. It'll give us all a chance to get to know each other better," she said with a grin. "You know how to cook, right?"
Caritas?" Hermione asked, wondering what exactly that was. A nightclub or something, she wondered. Before she could ask, Fred told her that she needed to introduce her to Lorne. "Oh! That means he's an anagogic, isn't he? I've read about them. I'm sorry he lost his...club? I'm sorry he lost it."She watched as Fred seemed to be lost in thought for a few moments, wishing she could offer some thoughts. She wasn't sure there was anywhere she could take Fred in the wizarding world at the moment - not without drawing attention to themselves. If Jefferson had been able to tell that they were conduit counterparts, she was sure that they'd broadcast like a beacon to any wizard in the vicinity, especially until they figured out how to help Fred control the power she channeled whenever they touched. Then Fred mentioned the idea of having a picnic at Wesley's flat and looked up at her. "Well...it's been a while since I actually cooked, but if I have instructions, I think I can do it," she said, giving her a smile. "So if Rupert and Wesley don't mind, I think that sounds like a great idea."
"I'll call them and find out," Fred said, getting off the bed to retrieve her cell phone. She dialed Wesley's number and after a few rings he answered. Fred explained to him what she had planned and after a brief discussion with Rupert, he said it was okay for them to come over. They set a time and Fred hung up. "This is going to be so much fun! I should make a grocery list. I think chicken would be good."She went over to the dresser and picked up a piece of paper and pen. Fred thought for a moment what she needed to get. She knew they needed the chicken, some lettuce and tomato for the salad, some beverages, and maybe some pasta. She jotted all of it down and looked over at Hermione."Do you think Rupert will be well enough to drink wine? I don't want to get any if he can't have it," she said, furrowing her brow. "Or Wesley might even have some wine there. Do you think I should call him and ask?"
Hermione got up and started unpacking a few more things while Fred called Wesley to ask whether it was okay for them to go over to make them dinner. She was pleased to hear that Rupert and he had agreed - it would be nice to spend some time with them as well as with her girlfriend. While, Fred made the list for what they needed to pick up from the grocery store, Hermione listened to what she was thinking about getting. "If you're going to get lettuce and tomato for a salad, make sure you get a vinagrette or salad creme of some sort," she told her while she hung a dress up. "I don't care for dry salad."She then looked over at her. "And I would think we can go ahead and pick up a bottle of wine even if Wesley has some. I'm rather sure that they wouldn't mind even if Rupert can't have any."
Fred nodded her head at Hermione's suggestion of getting something to put on the salad. She jotted it down on the list, along with wine. "You're right. I'm sure Rupert won't mind if we bring wine along. Especially if you say so since you know him better," she said with a smile. She watched Hermione hang up a dress before going over to the bed to sit down. Looking at the list again, she furrowed her brow. Something wasn't right. How had Hermione known about the lettuce and tomato? Fred hadn't said anything about it. All she'd done was write it down."Hermione?" she said, blinking her eyes. "How did you know I had lettuce and tomato down? I never said I had it down. I just thought about it while I was writing it."
Hermione looked up when Fred said that she hadn't said she was writing down lettuce and tomato on her shopping list, her brow furrowing. "Are you sure? I swear I heard you, clear as a bell. You said you were going to get lettuce, tomato, some beverages and maybe pasta."When Fred looked at her and shook her head, she walked over to her and looked down at the list in her hand. Everything she had said was on there."You...you really didn't say anything of these out loud?" she asked in utter amazement. "But...I swear, Fred, I heard you. I--it must be the link between us."She paused for a moment and thought, Can you hear me, Fred?
